Photo by Paula Ghergia Grimey's always makes you feel at home–and not just because this used-CD store inhabits a small house near 100 Oaks Mall. In your first visit, owner Michael Grimes generally introduces himself, at least when he's not chatting up his faithfully frequent customers. And the guy is the king of the "add-on" sale. However, once he plays you the record he thinks you might like, you'll often see that he's right on the money. He's got vinyl in a back room, and a few cassettes stacked up, too. There's even a messy catch-all table for slow sellers. The local music community has blessed him with tons of inventory for his CD bins, and it threatens to overtake every last inch of wall space. Nevertheless, the club stalwarts remain true to one of their own (Grimes used to play in The Bis-Quits and Bare Jr.). Don't be surprised to buy a locally-made album and pass the artist on the way out. – Craig Shelburne
